“I have one tattoo so far, but we already have a second one in the works!”

I chose Katrina as my artist because her portfolio and style matched the vision I had. I especially liked that she can do both serious shading and something more playful or cartoonish like Pokémon. It showed me she has real versatility in her art.

I was extremely comfortable through the whole process, which goes a long way for a first tattoo. Katrina made everything easy, fun, and personable. Bonus points for giving me a granola bar after I told her I hadn’t eaten that day.

My favourite part of the tattoo is the Majora’s Mask she did. The line work is immaculate. The creative liberties she took matched what I had pictured in my head perfectly. And the healing process was super simple — barely any peeling or irritation. I love this tattoo! Katrina understood the assignment with this one.

If someone is nervous about getting a tattoo, here’s what I’d tell them:

1. Make sure you eat before you go!

2. Don’t compromise on an artist — find someone you trust.

3. Do your homework on the artist’s work online.

4. Listen to the aftercare advice they give you.

5. Have fun with it — it’s not that scary.
